Higher Ed Rocks

There are many reasons that I love what I do. Helping students transition into and out of college is a big deal and getting to touch their lives along the way is just fulfilling. Plus, I tell students regularly that if the truth be told, I just figured out how to stay in college and get paid rather than having to pay!

But tonight was one of those bonus nights. I got to see one of my former student leaders shine, and THAT is what it's all about. Boy howdy it makes me feel old, but it also makes me so proud. (On a semi-unrelated topic, if you want to be blessed, watch the "Sounds of Liberty" group sing and minister whenever you can.) Sounds of Liberty led a time of worship tonight at church and then our college minister (the "old" student leader) shared a time of...truth. It was from his heart, and it was funny, timely and wise. Whether he chooses to wear shoes or not these days, his message has so matured, and I was the one learning tonight.

Oh life is good...if I could only make sure to help all of the students with whom I work find the same kind of fulfillment in their careers of choice.

Katie, you have no idea how you impact others! I wouldn't be where I am today without your mentorship and friendship!
