Jack's "Sermon" on Jesus

*WARNING* toddler-ese in use*

We took the kids to listen to A Few Good Men at church Sunday night, and they used a PowerPoint filled with images of Jesus on the cross and the empty cross to emphasize the power of the words they were singing. Well, Jack was quite concerned with the images of Christ, but at the time I quietly tried to explain that Jesus died on the cross (JACK: <not in a whisper> But why they take his clothes?!) and then rose again to wash away our sins/bad decisions.

Last night (Wednesday) Jack started replaying the event to me again as he sat on his bed and I kneeled beside it in front of him. (This kid is skilled in procrastinating going to sleep!)

JACK: Those men play dwums <beating hands on legs>; the TV, one, two <counting on fingers> go up and down; they show Jesus in diaper.

ME: Not a diaper, just a cloth to cover his bottom. (We're trying to potty train...can't possibly help if he thinks Jesus wore a diaper.)

JACK: And he die on cwoss <falls down, bam, to his right side and then sits up again...> and then he wiv agin <arms raised> Wahoo!!! <big smile>

ME: <cracking up at dramatic death scene and charismatic celebration that followed> Yes, Jack, that is exactly right.

So...we're signing him up for the nearest revival preaching opportunity. ha!
