More than the Bunny

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,

"Hosanna to the Son of David!"

"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

"Hosanna in the highest!"

Matthew 21:6-9

The girls paid attention last Sunday morning! They were given faux palm leaves during Sunday School and by Sunday evening, our den had become Jerusalem. I had the honor of playing Jesus since Jamie was bigger and need to be the donkey. :) The girls hailed Jesus' entrance with enthusiasm, and Jack was a rogue villager intent on pillaging the "cloaks."

Porter was determined that the ENTIRE path would have something covering the floor. Betsy took her instructions well.

"Hosanna in the highest!" (We all had our turn in this role.)

No ill will towards "the bunny" but I look forward to the girls' excitement about Jesus' resurrection when we get home from church THIS Sunday! Who knows what narratives will be shared and demonstrated by their chocolate and sugar laden fingers and lips.
